David Milchard: the PURE NONSENSE show

“The best thing we did in Vancouver!! Belly laughs all the way- thank you for a great evening out, really worth the money and such a good show. Travelling from the UK and wish they would come do some sets in England!!”

Comedy, Convos and Music!
"I talk. We talk. You laugh and I sing about it."
It’s Stand Up. It’s Crowd Work. It’s Music.
Monthly at the Show Cellar
Presented by The Comedy Department
Anything can happen and it usually does. David Milchard’s monthly comedy show that breaks the fourth wall and then writes a song about it. It’s a new kind of comedy night with fearless spontaneity. No two shows are the same! Think of it as a comedy show, a hang, and a concert that hasn’t been written yet—all in one night!
David performs, you talk back, and then he improvises songs about whatever just happened. If Flight of the Conchords, Steve Martin and Adam Sandler had a monthly therapy session, this would be it.
You may have seen him on YouTube with Convos with my 2 year-old (over 125 million views!) and probably seen him biking around Vancouver.
Here’s how it works:
David performs stand-up. Then he invites you into the conversation. Then he grabs his guitar and improvises songs about what just happened. The topics? Whatever you just talked about. The experience? Unlike anything else happening monthly in Vancouver.
With performances at Just For Laughs Montreal, Just For Laughs Vancouver, the Laugh Factory, The Improv, The Upstairs Comedy Club, Middle Aged Boy Band, Canadian Steam, and The Comedy Department David combines the musical wit of Flight of the Conchords, the conversational ease of Steve Martin.
Every show is different. Help create songs in real-time. And there’s a decent chance you’ll end up in one.
Join us the on the last Wednesday of every month for comedy that talks back.
