GUT PUNCH! Improv Comedy That Hits Different
Welcome to the ultimate unscripted experience.
GUT PUNCH! It’s in the name: a show that will produce sore stomachs from 90 minutes of pure laughter.
Headlined by long-time creative collaborators Lauren McGibbon, Andrew Barber, Ed Witzke, and Scott Patey, this ensemble first crossed paths decades ago in beginner acting and improv classes. They have been relentlessly making each other laugh ever since.
Through countless live stages, late-night bits, and creative crucibles, this tight-knit crew has supported each other’s journeys from underground rooms to major screen sets. Over the years, their individual performance talents have landed exciting roles across prominent film and television productions, including:
Lauren McGibbon: A Series of Unfortunate Events (Netflix), Trial & Error (NBC)
Andrew Barber: Totally Killer (Amazon/Blumhouse), Resident Alien (Syfy)
Ed Witzke: The Predator (20th Century Fox), The Flash (The CW), The Troop (Nickelodeon)
Scott Patey: Sonic the Hedgehog (Paramount), Schmigadoon! (Apple TV+), Upload (Amazon)
GUT PUNCH! utilizes a classic, signature “mullet-style” format to maximize the comedic energy:
Short-Form in the Front: Fast-paced, high-adrenaline, game-driven improv to ignite the room and get the energy roaring.
Long-Form in the Back: Deep, complex, storytelling and character-driven scenes that build a rich, hilariously interconnected world on the spot.
Every single month features a brand-new thematic premise explored through world-class scene work, organic character channeling, and spontaneous personal stories inspired directly by you, the live audience. Come out, grab a drink, reconnect with community, and prepare for a sore gut from non-stop laughter.

SECRET STAND UP SHOW
The lineup is a total secret and you won’t find out who’s on stage until they’re already up there, tickets are cash at the door only, no advance sales, so just show up, find out and laugh!
The Comedy Department is trying something we’ve never done before. Normally we’re an improv house, but this time it’s a full stand up night, happening at our home venue, the Show Cellar. The lineup stays under wraps until show night, it’s curated by the show’s producers, a mix of local favourites and a few surprise names you might recognize from festivals, clubs or screens, and the only ones finding out who they are in real time are you.
Because of how it’s set up there’s no advance ticket sales this time, tickets are cash at the door only. So here’s how it works: show up on the night, grab your ticket at the door, and settle into a full stand up show built entirely on not knowing who’s coming next. Who doesn’t love a good secret!

Anything Goes is fast, loose, and driven by you. Some of the best improvisers in Canada hit the stage with nothing planned. You throw out the ideas, we run with them, and things move quick. There’s plenty of crowd work, maybe music, maybe magic, maybe someone gets a tattoo. We really don’t know where this is going,.
It might get weird. That’s kind of the point.Grab your friends, grab a drink, and come laugh your face off on a Thursday.
